Overview:

Expert enterprise network support that continuously improves the availability, capacity, continuity, performance, and security of the Army Medical Network.

Provide strategies and implementation plans to support MEDCOM initiatives, projects, and efforts to improve the delivery of health care utilizing network based and cloud based architectures and solutions.
Maintain a knowledge of, and currency with information technology and its association to DISA, MHS, Army, and MEDCOM standards.
Review new technology and its implementation and sustainment requirements, schedule, cost, and performance into the Army Medical Network by providing planning services that include, but are not limited to defining the management, operations, and performance measurement structures, functions, methodologies, procedures, test/validation requirements, reporting requirements, quality assurance process, information assurance, and related management tools.
Optimize plans to streamline the production network performance and security based upon DoD regulations and policies.
Provide expert level enterprise network planning and engineering support including, but not limited to:                 

Developing concepts, test and evaluation procedures, implementation and sustainment plans to improve the security of the Army Medical Network
Analyze and evaluate network security incidents to develop strategies and procedures to prevent future network exploits or failures
Monitor network performance by deconstruction and evaluating configurations, bandwidth, latency, physical paths, routing tables, incidents, outages, and problems to determine appropriate material solutions, network configuration changes, or other recommendations required to improve enterprise network availability
Develop quality of service strategy in accordance with DISA Unified Capabilities Requirements that supports real time application such as voice, video, and data as well as priority medical applications such as AHLTA, CHCS, and DINPACs.
Provide expert level installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and implementation support to all MEDCOM supported activities.
Review recommendations, cost estimates, deployment, installation, and sustainment plans to improve existing Army Medical Network capabilities through network consolidations, re-architecture of existing network, or the insertion of new technologies.

Qualifications:

BS/BA in Computer Science or directly related field (e.g., Engineering, Information Systems, etc)+5 years of related experience

IAT Level 2 Certified (DoD 8570.1): Security+, CISSP or GSEC required

CCNP or BCNP Certification Required

Interim Secret Clearance Required to start-must be eligible

Active Secret Clearance Desired

Travel:

This role may require weekly travel for approximately eight weeks per year. The employee will be providing service support to Army Military Treatment facilities throughout the United States.
