[SATLUG] difference between niceness and priority

I'm taking a Linux+ practice exam just for fun. Would somebody tell me
what is the difference between priority and nice value? I thought they
were used interchangeably to mean the same thing. The practice exam
question makes niceness and priority distinctly different by saying
updatedb is running with a different priority, different nice value.
So, what is the difference between priority and niceness?

The man page on the nice command says this:

Quote:
-n, --adjustment=N
add integer N to the niceness (default 10)

It says niceness in the man page. So if -n is used to change the
niceness, not priority, how can any of the multiple choice be the
answer?
