I am sure that Google has the answer to my problem but I don't know how to ask. I am having problems with music streams dropping screen freezes & 404 for sites I have bookmarked. this is a sporadic condition not often but annoying. Usually I reboot & problem is fixed for some variable time. Running 11-04 Studio-Ubuntu & recovery mode 2.6.38-15 generic > fix broken packages In the list that begins I have maybe 20+ failed fetches that say 'Something wicked happened resolving *** ... (-5 _ No address associated with hostname') -

Asking google it say ... http://www.tuxgarage.com/2011/02/something-wicked-happened-resolving-no.html
"This is another common repository error in Ubuntu. It can appear in any package manager including but not limited to apt-get, Software Center, Synaptic, aptitude etc. The fact is that if one of the package manager is having problem, it will be the same in all others as all of them probably depend on apt-get running in the background. If you are getting this error, you may or may not notice some Internet browsing problems in your web browser.

This is true but I am stumped because first test I do not understand

Did this pass or fail can someone please explain what is being shown? I have tried to understand the routing system but I fail to wrap my head around it, I keep hoping the light will click on but....

At the moment I do not have the problem. Using the browser seems faster than before so perhaps changing from 'automatic' with no dns server listed to 'Automatic (DHCP) addresses only' & listing Google server has cured the problem. I still wish to understand.
Thanks in advance
herb
