[SATLUG] weirdness

I'm not sure if I have a software issues or a hardware issue...

Browser (doesn't matter which one) keeps crashing. Can't capture 'why',
just yet...

This evening (just a few mins ago) was playing a game of backgammon
(gnubg) and the thing just quit on me. Looked in /var/log/messages and
came up with:
2016-10-19T20:30:38.766285-05:00 pawpa kernel: [ 9198.084095] traps:
gnubg[5611] general protection ip:7f96644ac037 sp:7fff4f0a36b8 error:0
in libdrm_intel.so.1.0.0[7f96644a6000+1f000]traps:

Been having issues with certain pages and most certainly, any video
either refuses to load, or causes the system to crash, but I can view
youtube videos, so that rules out flash (dosent it?)

 From kinfocenter:

Linux 3.12.62-52-desktop

openSUSE 13.1 (Bottle) (x86_64)

Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G3260 @ 3.30GHz(x2)
Max cpu speed 3300
SATA ST3320620NS
Total physical memory: 12,519,940,096
Free physical memory: 10,315,908,712
Shared memory 0
Disk buffers: 61,411,328
Disk cache: 966,651,008
Total Swap memory: 2,153,771,008 Free swap memory: (Identical)

Motherboard and chipset
Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset Family

It's a relatively new system, but I know, with the lack of QC these
days, and all this thing is doing, who know what imbalance may have
taken place. The symptoms have started and ramped up in the span of
about a week.

I'm leaning towards a problem with the on-board video, but I'm
entertaining any and all ideas.

Thanks, -Geoff
